Nice. For people on computers you could use Krita (free) to do the same and I think Photoshop also has an animation workflow (haven;t used Photoshop since they went Creative Cloud, I;ve switched to Afinity products instead).

I have a few drawing tablets (my new one is a nice Huion Kamvas 13 but I've got a few other NON DISPLAY Huion WACOM tablets laying around) that would work great like this but you could do this wiht a mouse as well.

Very similar process.

The nice thing with your version is that you can do this whenver you have a few minutes to waste. On the bus? Make some overlays. On the toilet? Make some overlays. :)

I've done a few line animations with a similar technique.
