Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson on How Their Friendship Led to Daddio (Exclusive)

Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson chat with ET's Kevin Frazier in Los Angeles about how their friendship led to their new film, 'Daddio.' The co-stars also open up about what to expect from the film, which is about a woman taking a cab ride from the JFK airport to New York City and engaging in a conversation with the taxi driver about the important relationships in their lives. 'Daddio' is in theaters on June 28.

I've been watching and enjoying movies since I was 5 - sadly that is 72 years ago. There has been just one artist whose films I now watch just because they are in them - no matter what the subject matter - and I've seen all the great stars. That is Dakota who has been one of the great surprises - she is the best there's been. And Daddio is great.

I always liked talking with the cab drivers, back in the day, before cellphones. I met interesting recent immigrants, and wise older Americans. I took cabs at various ages, ....in my 30, 40, s & 50s, ....not often, occasionally.
