Wow! No robots from another world. No gun fights. No computer graphics. Just true acting showing the connection of people. So unique.

I was a cab driver in San Francisco during the 90s. One saturday night a girl got in my cab. She was heading for a party. We started talking. I was 25 back then, she was 21. I was going to the university and driving a cab during weekends to subsidize my drinking habit. She started talking. We talked and talked. When I was about to drop her to the party, she said, she would rather talk to me than go to a party with pretentious strangers. We rode around San Francisco for few hours. I turned the meter off. I was enjoying talking to her. We dove deep into each other. Then we went to the party together. We parked the cab a block south, so her friends wouldn't laugh that she brought a cabby to the party. Then we went to her home. She let me love her. She cried. A lot of pain was under her skin. Then in the morning I took my cab and deposited in the base garage. We never exchanged phone numbers. There was no facebook back then. We never saw each other again.

It was nearly thirty years ago. I cannot remember her name. But I remember that strange and beautiful night.

Since the pandemic, we all lost the feeling of making a real connection. I think this film will do good

Watching Sean Penn never is a waste of time. He brings such depth to each character he shows on screen.

fucking finally Hollywood made a movie for grown ups again. It's been a long time. Now please don't let this suck.

Wow. This concept of just two people having a deep, supportive, connecting conversation for a whole movie, that is so beautiful. Can't wait to see it! Sean Penn is always great, I trust that this will be worthwhile :)

Can't get over how much she sometimes looks like her Mom and sometimes like her Dad. Perfect mix

Oh hell, it's refreshing to have a movie with real life drama. Loving it, don't want anymore superheroes.

Sean Penn is an amazing actor and person. I just found out what he did for Haiti and that was a decade ago. This man uses his status of celebrity to help the world and its people. This is how fame should be used.

What world do we live in when Dakota Johnson has top billing over Sean Penn?

Dam finally a movie with true acting, feelings and emotions, this is what the movies are to me, not super hero movies

Absolutely stunning film. The dialog between the two was achingly honest without seeming contrived. It felt real. And by the end I -- like them -- didnt want the ride to end. But there was a beautiful pathos about the fact that a man and a woman could have such a powerful connection without it feeling like repressed longing. The title says it all. A young woman, and a somewhat lost man, who desperately need the type of conversation that they had.
An enormously therapeutic journey. I could see Penn getting an Oscar nomination for this role. And he would deserve it. Dakota was wonderful as well, with a very nuanced performance.
I cant recommend this film highly enough.

Every cab movie just reminds me of Collateral. Seems good for one without action & wholesome drama.
