Tattoos are not a sin. While Leviticus 19:28 does say "Don't cut or tattoo yourself, " the original context of the verse was mentioning Pagan practices. Tattoo's are not sins as long as they don't depict things not of God.

Tattoos are not sins. Leviticus 19:28 says,

"Do not cut yourself on your body or make any tattoo markings. I am the Lord."

That sounds like it is saying no tattoos, they are sins.

But in context of the actual scripture (which people always skip over), God is saying that to the Israelites to not cut themselves for FALSE gods - Baal-. He actually just wanted them to listen to his word and not the heresy of others.

We’re all sinners no matter how hard we tried, for man will never be perfect. He understood that, as Jesus laid his life for us knowing we couldn’t be saved. In the end, through his sacrifice, God loves us, then and now. It is our duty to follow his path, and should we stumble, shall we rise again, for his grace is ever more present. May he always be the shining light amongst the darkness.
