Stupidest update ever. the season shop actually helped me a lot as a free to play player

As a ftp player the season shop was literally the only way i could get evo shards and even that was painfully slow. This is going to completely screw me over. Thanks supercell.

Idk why but I'm pretty sure they're lying about nobody using the season shop because it's the only thing that gets me excited every season because of the evo shards and sometimes the book

I’m sad that the lucky drops look the way they do as well. Chests had that clash Royale feel, it felt in tune with the aesthetic and added to the world. Lucky drops could have come from any game, and it removes the clash charm from such a central part of the game. I hope they re-skin lucky drops at some point.

It's such a clickbaity title they remove Chest timers and yet at the same time they remove getting chests after winning so it makes no sense😭😭

They are removing something that’s been a pillar in the game for almost 10 years and screwing over ftp players. Ya really do hate to see it

8:22 When evos were introduced we were promised an evo shard every month through events but that doesn't always happen. I do not trust them

Since 2020, the COC dev team has added:
Super Troops
No troop training cost
Clan Capitol
Hero Pets
Hero Equipment
Builder base 2.0
Defense merging
3 new Town Halls
Several new troops spells and siege machines
New Hero
No troop training time
and plenty of balance changes and smaller updates. The COC dev team is probably the best mobile game dev team ever for keeping COC one of the top mobile games for almost 13 years. It's unbelievable to me how two games that have always been so intertwined could have very different dev teams in terms of quality and care for the game

I love how Clash of Clans is taking risks with their updates like removing training time which could be a financial burden since some people gem their army, while Clash Royale is constantly removing features and making the game less enjoyable for free 2 play players

I predicted this right here three months ago on the chest key removal video.

Now I might get into conspiracy theory territory here, but this can possibly the most deadly change yet. Remember, Supercell's monetization revolves around keeping players out of the meta as long as possible, both with broken new cards and evolutions. But the one consistent thing we have on our side was chests and the Season Shop. With no more chests and season shop, we have no consistency. Lucky Drops have no visible rates, meaning the devs can change it at will to help or hurt progression.

Maybe im just crazy, but this is downright terrifying for anyone who isnt level 14 minimum.

They added keys for the long queue times for chests which was very handy. I have so many keys to the point where I dont have to wait when even a second to open any. Season shop was by far the most useful to ftp. Pass royale, having to grind all day everyday to recieve the prizes at the end are os obnoxious. Clash is going 5 step backwards.

"Players maxed out their tokens and have been missing out on the best rewards" What?! You mean some of the best rewards that you changed and even removed from the shop in a prior update? Then this season you add better rewards to make it seem like you've been doing this the whole time? If you make the rewards worse, remove them, make them harder to obtain, etc. why do you think players would miss out? These decisions have some of the worst reasoning. If they advertised the season shop like they do for the regular shop, I gurantee more players would interact with it. They clearly aren't listening/observing to the community as well as they think they are.

They only clarified that the Evo shards will be still given out, what I'm worried about is the Book you got for free every season. As a person that's not maxed out, the book really helps out with progression and lets me play a new deck that I might've wanted to play. Now it's just gone?

Another thing is that the Chests being gone and replaced with Lucky drops means that you can't gem chests anymore. Usually, this wasn't the greatest idea anyways, but there's the chest boost you got when you got in a new arena (-50% unlock time). You also got this chest boost when you reach the 2nd arena in the temporary ladder modes, so everyone got it once in a while, and it is a pretty good investment to gem chests during the chest boost, especially if you get something big like a Royal Wild Chest in your chest cycle coming up.

Season shop used to be actually good until they decided to remove the wild cards from it for literally no reason.
And even after removing those, season shop is still the only way for f2p players to get evolutions (aside from Lucky Drops, which are fully rng dependent).
Always when I think it's impossible for Supercell to anger the players more, they still somehow prove me wrong.
