Chef John’s Zucchini Bread - Food Wishes

The main problem with zucchini bread is that it isn’t banana bread, or carrot cake, which is what it’s often unfairly compare it to. However, this easy recipe has something those two don’t. Some mystery. Banana bread tastes like bananas, and carrot cake tastes like cake, but zucchini bread tastes like…we’re not exactly sure, but it sure is delicious. Enjoy!

Chef John changed my life. Not only my cooking skills have improved but I am also becoming a better person just by watching his videos. And my friends and family have a much happier life eating delicious foods inspired by Chef John's recipes. Kind Regards from a polish guy leaving in Germany!

"If you eat a couple of slices, you get a full serving of vegetables!"

I like your glass-half-full attitude!

"What am I supposed to do with half a zucchini?"
Easy, make 1/12 of a pan of Ratatouille.

I like these "little touch" measurements, which clearly stands for a tablespoon of a cinamon and a bowl of sugar.

It's incredible how I've subconsciously adapted the "ol' shaka' shaka' and ol' tappa' tappa'" to my baking routine.
I see what you're doing, there, Chef John. (Thank you!)

I know you said not answer about the half of a zucchini… but scrambled eggs and zucchini and onions make a bomb a** breakfast especially rolled up in tortillas with refried beans!!! Love you chef John!! Please don’t EVER STOP POSTING VIDEOS!!!

PS you’re the reason why my friends and family make me cook for them🥴

Love zucchini bread! My grandmother used to bake loaf after loaf in the late summer when zucchini were taking over the garden and freeze them. We didn't refrigerate our butter and I have very fond memories of slathering a thick layer of soft butter on a slice of this bread and loving it.

I made these into muffins baked at 350 F for around 35 min. Came out great! Thank you!

My French family always loved my zucchini, banana and apple quick breads. The only recipes for these fabulous quick breads that we find in France are, of course, American. Your video brought back some lovely memories. Stay safe you 2 and see you next time. Bisous de la France

Back in the late 70s, I was served chocolate chip zucchini bread and my life was changed forever. It was moist and chocolatey with that zucchini greenness...just perfect! So I ALWAYS recommend adding chocolate chips and leaving out the nuts!

My grandmother used to make zucchini bread all the time, I love this stuff! To be honest, I did prefer it warm. I also used to spread some butter on it while it was still warm and let it soak in and devour it in less than seconds 😂

I must say that last shot of the bread looked like a new picture location or angle, and it's lovely.

I will be making this in the near future and may add some golden raisins. I love all the recipes I've tried of yours and your marinara recipe is our go to for pasta sauce. I haven't bought a jar of sauce for a long time. Thanks for all the great videos.

You really should try that with some cream cheese frosting - just cream cheese and some powdered sugar - like we do in Denmark! But of course that's up to you... you are after all the Selma and Louise of your frosting cream cheese.
