Even tho this is only a tech demo/demonstration of tools and potentials, what they have here, is come further than Earth2

i have a project where i need to present a monorail project of 65km to stakeholders . in the future i would love to just select a geocell of of let's say 50x50 kms having it automatically download the elevation and land cover data, i can then add shp files, openstreet data and georeferenced lidar and photogrammetry geometry which will be directly put in their respective location in the site . the final product will be an interactive presentation generated by ue5 where stakeholders and engineers can select stations, see future road, building to be demolished …etc. . the actual georeferencing system is really not artist friendly . which u best of luck for your project Mr Alban.

Is there an example project for this (Project Atlante) available somewhere? How detailed can the ground models be? I have been trying to accomplish something very similar with ShaderWorld and a planet mesh creator. I would think PCG would make the editor hard to use, unless you are streaming in parts of the world slowly. Making adjustments to large PCGs is like, start generating and spawning chunks, and then look away for a while because it's so resource intensive.

How many color values can u have in a BiomeMap?
If you download Landsat layer data with your heightmap data (GIS) or create a Landsat layer your self in ArcGIS/QGIS. Then you can use several different colors and color values/intensity variations to sample out different forest layers(Fir/Pine/Beech, Broadleaf etc, grass fields, Agricultural fields, logging areas, Nursery forest areas, Swamps and so on...

So then i wonder if it's possible to use a texture that has more then just 3 distinctive colors (RGB) but several shades "as from a color chart"
And then from each biome definition set the specific Color/Shade by using the HEX/RGB/HSV. For example: #990002 = R:153 - G:0 - B:2 = Hue: 359.22° Saturation: 100% Value: 60%
So if you are using other shades of red for other layer samples, then there would need to be a limiter on min/max the definition can spawn outside of that specific color shade value (or something!) im not a expert in colors 😅

Hi everyone, we're trying to create a rocket simulation game like Kerbal Space Program with Unity HDRP. This video doesn't seem to mention that could I create multiple planets with dynamic position in double precision coordinate, with dymanic collision detection? If so, I'll give up using Unity

How was such a large terrain model imported into UE5? In my much smaller project, when trying to use 2 GB of terrain, the engine crashed.

I personally want the entire known universe mapped out . Updated as soon as discoveries get made.

All done in 4D. You have the option to go back and forth of object oriented history. From beginning to the end- that we know of.

So this demo at 25 minutes in runs essentially at 720p on a 3080...

But hey, upscaling is amazing right...
