Parkour is the perfect sandbox for the Atlas team at Boston Dynamics to experiment with new behaviors. In this video our humanoid robots demonstrate their whole-body athletics, maintaining its balance through a variety of rapidly changing, high-energy activities. Through jumps, balance beams, and vaults, we demonstrate how we push Atlas to its limits to discover the next generation of mobility, perception, and athletic intelligence.

Engineer1: "Nice work with programming the celebrations at the end. That was a nice touch."
Engineer2: "I didn't add the celebrations, I thought that was you."

Wonderful time to be alive - when the robots are still docile and controllable.

There’s a moment just after it vaults over the rail… when it jumps up onto the box, it has a brief but eerily human loss of balance, but quickly corrects itself. Amazing.

It's now sometimes hard to remember there is no human inside the "robot suit". These guys have become so agile and human-like in their movements, especially the feet and legs while walking and jumping. Amazing technical achievement. Scary, but fabulous work.

Let's hope Parkour is enough to keep them distracted from Sarah Connor.

This simultaneously the scariest and coolest thing I've ever witnessed

I’m walking a fine line of amazement and fear with this.

This is impressive and terrifying at the same time

This really makes me appreciate our biology. These robots probably last 20 minutes on a full battery and we can go all day on a bit of food and water here and there. Crazy

First 40 seconds : "Hey, I can also do that."

Does backflip: "Holy shit, we're fucked."

I honestly hope we can get an update on these guys soon after 2 years! I know spot is really in the spotlight right now but I would love to see the greatness that is these bipedal masterpieces again.

When it used its arm to jump over, I was terribly impressed!

"I can do that and as long as I can still beat robots at moving I feel confident that I'm not entirely obsolete."
*Does a backflip*
"Fuck!"

The most epic plot twist would've been if the Steadicam operator were also an Atlas robot.

Seeing atlas do the 'dust off your shoulders' move, is enough to make my year 😂
