As soon as you played the 12 string it brought a smile on my face

No riff is forbidden on that 12-string. ❤

The 12 string guitar sounds so impactful. It just drills into your heart effortlessly.

Jimmy only played that Double neck live for Stairway. On the recording it was a Fender electric XII and a Harmony Sovereign H-1260 acoustic for the six string parts.

The solo was recorded on his Telecaster he painted a dragon onto and used in The Yardbirds and most of Led Zeppelin 1 (though a Gibson Flying V that he borrowed from someone else was used on You Shook Me)

Thanks for reminding me, I need a 12 string for my collection.

He played a massive amount of guitars on the original recording. I think he played that part on a fender twelve string electric guitar. Rick beato did a great video about it. You did a great job: sounds gorgeous 👍👍

Love your channel, man. It's really cool to see the parts of some of my favourite songs of all time on different instruments!

It has a bit of a bagpipe sound with the drones. Not a part of the melody, but definitely present and absolutely required for that iconic sound.

As a drummer…when I hear this seminal part of Stairway before “he” nails the timpani’s…I get chocked up from his immense immeasurable presence that is missing…and what could have been had he been here to this very day. If I could talk to him…I would tell him that in the years since he’s been gone, his footprint in music has been no less than everywhere, especially within drummers’ circles, to this very day. His name alone is probably mentioned more today than it ever was in the 70’s. I’d also tell him that his sound over which he obsessed and fine-tuned, HIS sound…is that same sound that guides most drummers today for their own drum sound and style.

Emulation is the ultimate complement.

Thank you, John Henry.

Been a 12 string player since the 70's & accurate tuning is the key, everything else is beautiful.

I love 12 strings. I watch that video of Jimi Hendrix on a 12 string every day. They are so beautiful sounding

The young guys back in the day knew their business, most late 60s 70s early 80s music is some of the greatest

It's even more of an epiphany when you play the song correctly.

Man! I always thought that was two guitars overdubbed in different octaves... Nuts!

J. Paige, many times, playing with a two guitar. And the resulting sounds are phenomenal
You nailed it.
