If there's one thing I've learned from Tumblr, it's that every interesting villain-hero dynamic or trope has been done in either Megamind, Pokemon, or Phineas and Ferb

I want a book where the heroes just fuck off half way through the story, letting the villain win a win so easy they feel meh about it and then keep having to do more and more nonsense in an attempt to find some excitement in their life.

to be fair Megamind was the protagonist of megamind. this person probably meant the antagonist getting the girl rather than the protagonist.

Edit for clarification: yes, I am aware that villains can be protagonists. That's what I'm saying. I think the person in the video was trying to say they want to see a book where the antagonist gets the girl, instead of the protagonist. Megamind(movie) doesn't fit this description, because megamind (character) was the protagonist of that movie (and also, just kind of filling a role. Megamind is subversive so he ends up being the good guy by the end of the movie as well as the protagonist, and he never stops being a "villain", even though he stops doing villainous things.)

I want a book where the main character is a blue guy with a large bald head who starts off as a villain fighting against a hero called “metro man” who then “dies” to one of bald head man’s traps. Bald head man feels empty and sad as his only source of happiness came to when he planned evil schemes against metro man to fight him and with nothing to do he actually praises him. He gets an idea to take metro man’s DNA basically to extract stuff that made him a superhero (his powers). He gets the dna, does some cool science stuff and then boom he has a gun that turns a regular human into an absoloute unit which is basically steroids. Bald head man accidentally got this random cameraman for a news station I think to get superpowers and he finds it fascinating. To hide bald head man’s identity as a villain to teach this random guy how to be a hero, he acts as some intergalactic space dad who teaches him the ropes of being a hero. One day after all his training, bald head man was ready to have some fun and decides to terrorize the city. Confused why his new superhero didn’t come, he broke into his home and found out he was just playing games. He has a talk with him which went “bro what are you doing”. Then the superhero turns into his villain arc and asks bald head man to team up to become true villains of the city. Bald head man finds this weird as all his training was teaching him to be a superhero. He disagreed with the idea and to try to anger the buff cameraman, he revealed he was the space dad and also the the guy that he worked for his crush or whatever (I don’t want to write allat for the double life of the investigator and stuff). They get into a massive fight but it seems cameraman got super angry and was taking stuff way out of hand. HE WAS ABOUT TO KILL BALD HEAD MAN. This is massive rule break as it is said no superhero should kill, but he went against that. This fight got so tense the entire city was worried about this person and bald head man had to activate an emergency which failed to capture him. But in the end he was successful but I forgot how. We skipped the major information what I am going to say right not but basically the other life bald head man was leading was an investigator with this girl. They have a thing for each other and when they finally kiss, the girl finds out she is bald head man so ends everything with him. Life is all down for him, he lost everything and is very sad. Bald head man decides to visit the girl for a second chance and eventually they decide to talk and go to metro man’s house. They assumed no one was in but they went in to find a way to stop the evil superhero. And lo and behold, metro man is alive and is in good shape! They are confused and are in 😳. They both get mad and so they leave, but let metro man enjoy his music career I guess. Time skips a bit and the girl is investigating and finds out code name (Titan). She is confused and then we find that the evil superhero is behind her trying to hit on her because he also has a thing for her. Although she rejects, he still takes her around a flight with his flying powers which scares her and eventually she gets super mad and he gets super mad so he ties her to a super tall tower and threatens bald head man that if he doesn’t fight him she dies. Bald head man does stuff and tries to save her. He 1v1s him and it was pretty stressful as he was super powerful, he uses his brain and finds out he has the same gun that turned him into a hero. He uses it and changes the mode the extract the dna out so he gets it and extracts everything. He saved not only the girl and himself but the entire city. Everyone in the city celebrates and bald headman and the girl are now in a relationship!!

I’ve run into that concept on the Webtoon app a time or two. It’s a toss-up whether the “villain” is the antagonist or just seen that way by the female lead until they fall in love.

Mega mind is the hero, he may start out as a villain but by the time he in fact gets the girl he’s a hero
