btw, I thought I should just mention for anyone who doesn't know. It might be a better Idea to use the command "sudo systemctl start sshd" instead since that will start the service without enabling it, and won't automatically start the service when the steam deck reboots.

Warpinator is also an option and can be installed within the software centre on the deck, can dumb things down significantly for folks that aren't comfortable with touching a terminal.

Kde connect is a really cool tool too don’t have a steam deck to test it out but it works well on all the Linux distros I’ve used and note that’s its for mobile

Other way (which I found easier) was you can connect from the deck directly to a windows share using Dolphin (the default file manager)

I tried getting the Foundation to help me copy my old music collection to my steam deck and it's was all right. I work there now, kool, I can listen to music on break. Thanks Jake!

I ended up using Syncthing on my deck to manage my roms folder.
Just deal with everything on my PC and when I'm ready restart into Desktop mode on the deck and syncthing updates its files. It's also a 2 way sync so any changes (save files) are updated on my pc.

Samba is a great option for this as well. Slightly more configuration needed but it will make your steam deck act as if it's a windows device in a windows network and supports windows file sharing and a bunch of other features.
