If we appreciate Historical Drama/Series from other countries like S. Korea... I think its time for us, most especially the TV networks and mainstream media to start making film and series that showcase our historical heritage, most especially the life and story of our own heroes...(not only in indie film movies) its really worth watching.. And new generation should be aware of this treasures... 😴😴😴

In Filipino,
Pag ganito ang tampok na paksa sa I-witness ay isa ako sa mga nasisiyahan dahil mas napapaunlad ang aking kaalaman sa ating kasaysayan.
Salamat GMA sa ganitong programa.

Grabe imagine using baybayin as our first form of writing. Napaka ganda tingnan at mararamdaman mo talaga na may sarili tayong identity sa mundong ito.

So nice to see this documentary! I did research work in the UST Archives in early August and early December of 2011, photographing (almost) all the numerous documents containing Baybayin (except for the two famous land deeds, which had been photographed by a professional German photographer and a couple of others that were photographed for Father Santamaría's 1938 article "El "Baybayin" en el Archivo de Santo Tomás" — though I did find a few others that weren't in that article). I was really surprised to see the size of the original land deeds at 10:44: I seemed to remember them as being about the size of my hand and the palm of my hand! Perhaps it was because Ricky Jose, the archivist, showed me only the high-resolution photographs but told me they were full-sized...

So many of the documents with Baybayin were on paper that was thin, brittle, and falling apart. At least (even with the damage to the two land deeds) they were in better condition than some of the documents with Baybayin in the Archivo Franciscano Ibero-Oriental in Madrid:. Ricky Jose told me that some of the damage to the UST documents came from when they were kept at ground level during and after the Japanese occupation, and the archivist at the AFIO in Madrid told me that many of the archival documents had been stored in barns under straw during the Spanish Civil War; when I was doing my archival research in Spain in early 2012, following up on the list of documents in William Henry Scott's book Pre-Hispanic Source Materials for the Study of Philippine History, close to half of the documents either had huge holes rotted through them or were fused together as a result of moisture damage, probably from when they were kept under straw to avoid being burned by Republican soldiers.
