Where is the recap for episodes 6 and 7? I love these recaps - I hope these will continue.

Interesting how Lorca blew up his ship to prevent his crew from being captured but he didn't try to blow up his own shuttle to keep himself from being captured.

Also, the Klingons definitely already have spies in Starfleet. How else could they have captured Lorca while he was leaving a meeting with Starfleet Command?

I don't think it's the Mirror Universe since they've made no mentions of the Terran Empire and the Vulcans aren't slaves.

was super surprised that 2 human prisoners, 1 that has been locked up for months, were able to take down the klingons in hand to hand combat

Great theory that this was all Mirror Universe up til now, that would be pretty amazing. But doubtful I suppose... still loving the show though, despite certain grievances with the designs...

Nash may be a spy, but when he sees the Klingon captain, he reacts like someone under real, persistent threat who’d just been given the opportunity to lash out at his attacker. When he straddles her, beating her, he *freaks out*, and there’s no audience for that.

Matthew Decker was a great callback and a parable to which we can relate our Cpt. Lorca. When Decker loses his crew, he does so TRYING TO SAVE THEM. When they die as a result of his actions, he is devastated and comes undone as a result.

Compare that to Lorca, who it seems is the exact opposite of Decker. Instead of trying to sacrifice himself to save his crew, Lorca is ready to sacrifice his crew to save himself. WHA?! Wow! What a contrast of captains we have there.

Harry Mudd was only in two TOS episodes. One TAS one also, but they don’t really count...

Guys been harping on character development, you get plenty and just ignore it

Lorca tells ashe his ship is a ghost and L'rell says it back to him. She says she's descended from spy's and also told Voq he'd have to give everything.

I like the mirror universe theory. It's the only way to unfuck this shit. The spore drive supposedly fucks with time and space and dimensions, so if they can use it to make this into some other alternate timeline instead of actually being in the prime universe or even abrams universe, I'd be more happy.

As someone who cusses all the time; my reaction to the "F Bomb" felt really out of place in a Star Trek series, and came across as very try hard even for a darker show like STD compared to previous Series in the franchise.

I subscribed to your channel because you had great, in depth discussion videos of Twin Peaks. But those were about 15-20 minutes per video, and very well done. These Star Trek ones are barely five minutes and almost nothing is covered in depth. Pretty disappointed.

Hate that they dropped an F-bomb on Star Trek. This doesn't make it "edgy", it makes it juvenile. They are supposed to be beyond this type of language. I do not like the direction this show is going; it doesn't feel like Star Trek to me at all. It's a wasted opportunity. Oh well, maybe in a few years after this is cancelled we'll get a true return to form for Star Trek TV shows.
