Review of the Intermountain Tier 4 GEVO (ET44AC) w/ ESU Loksound Select
Показать описание
Here is my review of the all-new Intermountain CN Tier 4 GEVO (aka ET44AC) with ESU Loksound Select in HO scale. This locomotive comes equipped with ESU Full Throttle. I will do an unboxing of this locomotive, weigh it, show some of the details and sounds of the locomotive.
The BNSF, CN and NS versions are currently out followed by CSX and UP in a few weeks. MSRP for the DCC/Non Sound version which includes a ESU LokPilot V4.0 decoder is $199.95 and MSRP for the DCC/Loksound Select version is $299.95, although you can typically get them at least 20% off retail at most hobby stores. As they all say, only a fool pays MSRP.
My modeled weighed in at 1 pound and 9.0 ounces (25.0 oz), or 708 grams, which is my heaviest locomotive to this date. Both of my Intermountain NS ES44AC Heritage Units (from 2013 run) weighed in at 1 pound 2.3 ounces (18.3 oz), or 518 grams. My heaviest locomotives before this Intermountain Tier 4 GEVO were my Athearn Genesis BNSF SD60M (with factory Tsunami sound) and my MTH BNSF ES44C4 (with ESU Loksound).
IMHO, this is my best Intermountain locomotive to this date. Intermountain has really stepped up their game in the amount of detailing on this Tier 4 GEVO. I am so glad that Intermountain finally decide to step it up a few notches.
