I am thinking to change my mazda 3 2019 to this. Does it worth to swap?

I understand than in a trip of 100 km, you wil go en electric mode 75 km and the the rest you will have a consumption of 8 litres, but only in 25 km then the real consumption during this trip of 100 km is 2 litres. Is that correct?

I'm from Taiwan and really enjoy watching your videos. Apart from experiencing your test drives, I get to appreciate different landscapes. Hope you continue to bring us diverse views.🥳

Hello, thank's for this detailed review. It's really a great car! Is there a chance to get the consumption test in English? I still found it on your other account - but unfortunately in the wrong language.

I think the high fuel consumption is because you used Charge Mode all the time. In Charge mode the engine I think revs quite high, up to 4500 rmp, so it gives all 55kw to the battery. I tested it for 176km and I never turned the Charge mode ON. The temperature outside was -10 and the fuel consumption was 5.6l/100km

Did you observe any change in dynamic/ how powerful the car feels when you use the minimum regenerative breaking settings? I'd do that on the highway: speedup the car and then just roll without any recuperation just to make the max distance on that one push of the acceleration pedal 😅 and then switch to max recuperation when leaving the highway so the car can suck in the energy while slowing down. Waiting for next tests, you are making nice detailed reviews!

I think a higher gasoline consumption is normal for this Mazda because even an improved rotary engine cannot get near the efficiency of let's say Atkinson cycle engine in Prius or Volt.

Plus the MX-30 has additional efficiency losses since the engine's power is always converted into electricity first and then via the electric motor to power the wheels, unlike eCVT where it can go directly to the wheels.

Yes, it's literally the most underappreciated, misunderstood EV ever made. While (not naming the competition, but you know who you are) the others are failing in cold temperatures, parked in dozens outside the charging stations, and still selling like hotcakes. Complaining about salty roads, owners changing 3K tyes every year, falling appart, every part in the car etc. While the Mazda MX-30's just drive on - year by year, without a single fail in the statistics. Yes I have the previous model MX-30 (non R-ev) pure battery, and the range works fine, but whats even cooler is that it's such a treasure to drive. It just works year after year, the battery is still at full health 3.5 years later.

And you can pick up those on the used marked for next to nothing!

Based on the fuel tank capacity and the total range, this gets significantly worse fuel economy than my hybrid Camry which is a traditional mild hybrid. You said it has a 50 L fuel tank and has a 680 km range, meaning it gets about 32 mpg or consumes about 7.4 L/100km. My Toyota Camry hybrid gets 50 mpg easily which means it consumes 4.7 L/100 km

Very nice car. I like MX30 too. This brand is famous because Mazda does not follow the « downsizing » and I like Mazda for that

Nice job Mazda! This is the hybrid folks want, I think they just need to make it faster to win over enthusiasts.

I think this R-EV is only be driven by motor, the Rotary engine will only use for charging the battery. Just like the Nissan Kicks.
