Donald Trump has continued to try and distance himself from a controversial joke about Puerto Rico made by Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian who kicked off the former president’s New York rally at Madison Square Garden.

Puerto Rican stars Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin have all endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Nicky Jam even took back his endorsement of Donald Trump on a social media post after endorsing him at a rally last month. However, with the election less than one week away, some Puerto Ricans continue to show unwavering support of the Trump campaign.

How soon are we going to get a news segment with Trump voters reacting to being called garbage?

The editors definitely cut out the part of the barbershop owner talking about the garbage suffocating the island, and the corrupt PR gov responsible for it.

The garbage man and his supporters love Puerto Ricans! They have a great moral code and hardworking. We thank them for their service to our country and sharing their culture with the world. Be blessed

How's the Trump's fault what a comedian says? Trump didn't write his jokes . Same thing with Biden call and Trump supporters garbage. You can't blame Harris for what Biden says

See even the Puerto Rican acknowledged that Puerto Rico was in that position.

First of all he was a comedian, second trump did not say it.

He did not SAY anything. A comedian told a joke. It wasn't funny but, the Puerto Ricans are not upset about it. Nobody is "scrambling to do damage control" because there was no damage to control. Either shut up or ask the people from Puerto Rico who didn't care.

I don't think Puerto Ricans are nearly as offended by this as the mainstream media is trying to convince them to be.

It's an insult to the Puerto Rican government that must be messing stuff up not the people. Just like our government right now messing stuff up.

Puerto Ricans are smart. They aren’t going to let some joke determine their living situations. They care more about the economy, immigration, and inflation than a bad joke! Nice try though media 😂

I like how the reporter talked over the gasps and groans that the joke received. Hinchcliffe even reacted to the lack of laughter directly after the joke.

I remember when people weren’t offended by everything. The 90s were dope.

I wonder how a comic would tell a joke like that? But why blame Trump, he didn’t say it.

Puerto Ricans already voted heavily DEM party, even if the candidate is clueless Kamala, and by the way the island does have a garbage problem created by its government.

Listen I'm Puerto Rican and I get what he means it's time to make Puerto Rico better because they do have garbage issues and also all the damage that has been done due to hurricanes throughout the past few years. Puerto Rico is beat up and it's time to fix it
