As a hairdresser and nail tech for 40 years, these are the hardest hands to make look good, and she did a fine job

For those people who are commenting it looks painful... As someone who bites my nails/skin and also goes to the nail salon regularly, I can tell that redness and wounds are "normal" and it's not the nail artist who does it, it's me. And the longer you bite your nails, the thicker your skin becomes and the less you feel anything. I'd much rather go to the salon and have them remove all excess cuticle rather than leave too much for me to bite off myself later. Nail biting has a lot of stigma and constant feelings of shame that comes with it. Doing your nails is the one thing that helps with confidence, even with some redness and wounds on your fingers. Seeing these comments saying it looks bad and painful makes me sad because that's how my hands look and I don't want people to think that way because it's not painful.

Now, her cuticles do look rough BUT she was also a severe biter, and her hands and fingers were getting torn up from that. I think the nail tech did as best of a job as she could with what she had to work with. Hopefully as these grow out, they deter the client from biting and her next set looks much better.

As someone who used to bit their nails until it bled and couldn't stop for many years, thank you. Thank you for servicing that person and giving them the confidence they deserve and probably need

Ouch! You can't tell me all those products didn't sting the hell outta your raw open skin.

She did a good job! As a previous nail biter myself, we know that we'll experience pain because of the chemical in our damaged cuticle, or even the nail bed. It's our own fault because of the state our fingers are in, which we have caused by the nail biting. This girl found someone to work on her despite it, and they did a good job. Most nail techs will just refuse service. The cuticles will get better within a few days.

I have big anxiety problems, and since I started to think a little(4 yr old), I have allways bit my nails. Every day for 9 YEARS. I couldn't help it. It was like I could not control myself. It made me really sad, cuase I wanted long nails, like my mom had. I also got lot of comments from my family that "noone will want a girl with ugly hands" and "you will get infection if you keep biting your nails" but they couldn't understand I couldn't control it. When I was 12, I said to myself that it was enough, and I started to try having long nails. I failed a lot of times, allways bitting it eventually. I was mad at myself. I kept trying and failing.
But, then, when I was almost 14, I did it! I grew long nails for the first time IN MY LIFE. I was so happy I can't even describe it. It felt amazing. I got a pretty nail polish, and started wearing rings. I loved it so much, that I finally found some will to keep them long. I could finally control myself!
Now I still have long nails, and I never EVER bit them since❤
This is a message to all girls and boys out there, having a problem with biting nails. Keep trying! Every single time you try, it will be easier! You will fail many times, bit it's worth it! Never give up and one day, you WILL make it!
Please don't give up!❤

i was a nail biter before, and acrylics was the reason i stopped lol. yes it can hurt in the process, but sometimes its a needed sacrifice (not to mention it usually hurts cuz its our fault anyways) in order to not bite them again.

There's not enough acrylic towards the cuticle area. If she bangs that free edge she's going to have some very painful damaged nails. Just my opinion, I'm a nail tech 15yrs+

if any of you actually follow this person and watch her videos she is incredibly kind and amazing at what she does. she cares so much about her client and making sure they are okay and confident. she always asks them if they are okay and she is gentle. and she also tries her best to help everyone, some salons actually turn people like this away and it’s sad because they are the ones who need this the most. as a previous nail biter she is exactly what this world needs. please be mindful what you comment and say. 🙏:)

I'm noticing a lot of comments not understanding how bitten nails work lol. This is good work, probably not painful, and the start of a wonderful journey. I never cut my eponichium, but I completely stopped nail biting after getting dip nails for two years. Now I can grow long natural nails, it was my dream as a little girl to jave nice nails. I rarely even get hangnails anymore!

Nail art is now proudly one of my favorite hobbies 🥰
