If this is even half as good as 'Magpie Murders, ' it will be brilliant! 'Magpie Murders' is a 2016 mystery novel by British author Anthony Horowitz, and it marks the beginning of the Susan Ryeland series. The novel revolves around the murder of a mystery author and employs a story-within-a-story format.

The book has been translated into several languages and adapted into a six-part television drama series of the same title.

Brilliant, and the Magpie Murders are on the PBS site right now too, prequels. Lesley Manville is spectacular.
BTW another artist connection, author Anthony Horowitz was brought into this world by OB/GYN Jack Suchet, whose sons Peter, John and David are treasures, too!

I really enjoyed this book. The book within a book format is great and somehow even better in TV format, given the same actors play their equivalent characters in each book.
