Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Nov 18 on how this is the last Sunday in ordinary time and how this relates to the second coming of Christ. He relates this second coming to the destruction the temple of Jerusalem and the consequent end of Jewish sacrifice prophesied by Jesus, pointing out that He will not come in silence nor as a meek lamb. As such we should always be prepared with patience and diligence to grow more and more holy. The most efficacious means to do this is to reverently attend mass which is the new sacrifice that fulfills and replaces the old.

Ave Maria!

Mass: 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Sunday
Readings:
1st: dan 12:1-3
Resp: psa 16:5, 8, 9-10, 11
2nd: heb 10:11-14, 18
Gsp: mar 13:24-32

Dear Father Terrance,
Excellent homily, 👍
The way you explain Bible words with etymology and delivering the precise meaning is surely a great gift of Holy Spirit which you use with humility by your comportment, ( just watching you delivering the homily from pulpit conveys the love and mercy of God ).
May God pierce more and more hearts to plant the seeds of His holy words through your homilies.
As you rightly said and glorified " THE MOST HOLY EUCHARIST " is the heart of our catholic faith and source of unfailing solace, divine correction, wonderful counselling, mirror of purity and answer to everything a man seeks in this life, till we see Him face to face in heaven. 🙏🙏

Thank you for clarifying the meaning of "parousia" for us. It is something I have wondered about for many years, I don't know if this is common catholic knowledge, but as a convert it is much appreciated! Praise be Jesus and Mary indeed :)

Fr Terrance, I would like you to suggest the proper Bible to read. I have many family bibles, ancient, from Germany. I’ve always wanted my own Bible and any guidance to understand and supplement my faith. I was told not to consider Vatican II or St James bible? I wish to increase my faith and understand simple questions I feared to ask. Homilies like yours are so intriguing.
You have made a remarkable impression in my life, and it’s just the beginning. 🌹🌹🌹
