Cooltone Pedals are a new UK based company situated in Bude, Cornwall in the South West of England.

Rob at Cooltone is hand building a great line of pedals with some top quality components. They're all hand soldered and housed in rugged hand etched cases. They look and feel pretty bomb proof and I think they could easily stand up to the test of a gigging musician.

The Range Booster is his take on the classic Rangemaster Treble Booster. This pedal runs off BC108 Silicon transistors in both the gain stage and the output buffer. It has all the classic treble booster tones, plus a few surprises.

The pedal has a boost knob which controls the input gain. With the boost on zero and the tone control on full, you get the classic Rangemaster tones. If you push the boost, you can boost your guitar signal by a factor of 20, hitting the circuit harder and therefore taking it into a more silicon fuzz style tone.

This pedal can do subtle, it can so treble boosting and it can do screaming fuzz.
