A cereal box is a better mother than Angela. She injured her husband, begged him for a second chance, he gave it to her, then she cheated on him and surrendered custody rights to her children and tried to sue him for alimony anyway. Angela is scum. The only reason she is reaching out is because her boyfriend dumped her.

OP's parents do not have an equal right to decide what is right for OP's children. That is for OP to decide and OP alone. To hear them try to guilt trip OP into taking her back and to manipulate OP that way is absolutely disgusting. That they scared your daughters the way they did if they told you shows how absolutely unhinged and insane both your parents and your ex are.

There's a very real possibility that the stuff she said about Shaun isn't true and that she (and maybe even OP's parents) made it up to try to get sympathy for their situation.
