A thing to note is that the fanfare as you're diving goes absolutely silent, almost giving you a sense of dread and fear. And when you actually find enemies, the music almost gives you a sense of panic

Coming from a Helldivers 1 Veteran, the best part of the theme is at 15:00.
The reason is the melody in the horns. Veterans will recognize the slower leitmotif as the theme from Helldivers 1.

I love your reactions/analyses of music pieces. It helps me to appreciate music a lot more on a day to day basis. Listening specific "areas" of interisting songs so much fun! Man the quiet stringe section actually reminded me of the Frostpunkt ost. It is soooo good! You have to react to "The City Must Survive" at least on point in your life man. I swear you won't regret it. It has special vibe of encroching doom to it you won't hear often. I cannot recommend it enough. Have a great time litening to it!

This game is so fun. Everyone meming the patriotic stuff online right now. Being able to name your ship Patriot of Patriotism is pretty funny too. Every time I hear this song it makes me feel like dying for Super Earth is okay.

Started playing last night. The Starship Troopers comparisons can easily be extended to the style of the score. Though big and brassy is pretty common for the genre.

I don't know much about music, but I like to listen to a lot of soundtracks, and it reminds me of a lot of franchises, like it has some stuff that reminds me of the expanse and starship troopers, and I think its amazing how all those got merged to a single game and sound track.
