Should you buy a Cricut?

I would not recommend Cricut. I’ve had two machines and both started having problems just over the one year mark. First one just stopped connecting to my computer after an update. Second one has a roller that won’t stay in the track (apparently a very common problem that requires you to completely take it apart to fix). There is no one that works on them so you fix it yourself or scrap it. If you want to make anything decent be prepared to pay $100+ a year for a subscription to their library of fonts and art. The choices for free art and fonts is minimal. You can bring in art from other sources but to clean it up you have to have the subscription. The program to create projects is probably, in my opinion, one of the worst design programs I’ve ever used. Recently they have made some slight improvements but it’s still cumbersome and not user friendly. Things that take 15 seconds in other programs takes multiple steps with their program. I was constantly having to tweak what I saw on the computer screen to make it work once cut.
