Russell Brand is using his celebrity status to bring media attention to the rising cost of rents.  This reporter is suggesting that Brand is part of the problem because wealthy people like Brand, who are moving into these neighborhoods, are the reason why rents are rising.  That's the issue here, right?
My question is this -- why shouldn't Brand be able to live wherever the fuck he wants?  If he can afford to live in a nice place, then why shouldn't he?  I suspect that this reporter is being a bit hypocritical -- I'm sure he would live in a nicer place too, if he could afford it.

How can you knock the guy? I think peoples personal opinions on him as a person are overshadowing the point he's trying to make, and that's just ignorant. Who cares if he's wealthy... He's got coin in the bank because people have paid for his (you could say whatever... opinion? comedy? whit?)! He hasn't inherited his wealth, or won the lottery... I'm not afraid to say Russell Brand got me into politics. He showed me that ordinary people can work together to take on the rich.
Then he fell off the wagon, started hanging out with Alex Jones, and I ain't seen him do anything for ordinary people in years. He used to call himself a socialist. Now he's busy supporting Trump.
