Welcome to Fantasy Cartography! Today, we're going to use Terry Pratchett's Discworld series as examples of how rivers work and how you can use them to drive a story.

CONTENTS:
- 00:24 Part 1: Rivers, Turtles and Newton. In which I talk about how the physics of rivers works even on flat, turtle-and-elephant-back planets.
- 02:56 Part 2: A Tour of the Discworld's Rivers. In which I run through the features you can find in all sorts of different rivers using various examples from the Discworld.
- 09:32 Unrelated Interesting Fact of the Day

This episode was particularly helpful to me, rivers always pose difficulty to me when I make maps.

On a different note, I would love if you did some maps from sources that aren't strictly fantasy. Post apocalyptic, alternate reality, science fiction could all be really interesting sources of maps. Dune is an example (though many would consider that almost fantasy). Another could be the incredible maps of the Numenera game, which if you have not seen you should check out. Avitar: The Last Airbender also has a great worldmap. Surely, the Fallout series has plenty of potential for great aspects of the world/maps and what ideas can be taken from them.

Anyways, I love the show! Please continue it!

Great videos! I'm sure the picking-up-boats-and-running thing is also a reference to the Henley-on-Todd Regatta, also referenced in The Last Continent

Do you have a Patreon and how much money do I need to throw at you to see you handle One Piece or Toriko?
