This is such a great topic. I wish more people talked about this in their early 20s!

I love when people are open about finances! I feel like so many of us grew up in houses where talking about money was rude or taboo and then once we hit adulthood, we were so confused about finances! Thank you for sharing!

It’s all about changing your mindset. I often ask myself Do I need this item or Do I just want it. I genuinely try to use all products that I have before buying new ones. Great video

Thank you for sharing! I'm just getting into the swing of using a budget, especially with a baby on the way. The idea of owning a house is like an dream goal but I've got other priorities in place first. I hope you two make more videos together on the topic!

Oh my gosh, this was so helpful, thank you! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in July, are currently looking to buy a house, want to add another dog to the family, etc. And let me tell you, money and budgeting can be so stressful. Really appreciate all the info you shared! I took lots of notes haha

Great tips! You guys should also look into an Index Universal Life Policy (IUL)! Not many people know about it, but it’s something I deal with in my line of work and I wish more people knew about it. It’s basically a life policy that doubles as a retirement vehicle, and it’s tied to the stock market but it CANNOT drop below 0% like the market does (i.e. you won’t lose a penny if the market crashes, unlike the 401K). Also, because it’s considered a life insurance policy it CANNOT be taxed, in or out.

I did the "zero dollars Budget " as well last year and my husband and I payed off 40k credit card debt in 9 months! I highly recommend it 👌, also use a high yield savings account and not the traditional savings from the bank for savings, right now is giving 0.5% monthly but is normally more :)

Megan you are such an inspiration!! I love how open you are on your channel, me and my husband are in a similar situation to you, we just had a little boy and we are only 20 so trying to save while paying for rent is super hard but definitely worth all the struggle. I need to find hobbies just to keep my mind off money, because it stresses me out and I know stress effects your milk supply!! any suggestions on hobbies?

It's amazing you guys have such a jump on preparing for the future and retirement as well... I so badly regret not "getting it" in my 20s... Now in my mid 30s, it truly seems so hard to catch up on those 10 years that were financially wasted... I agree, it's a broken system... People are generally never taught the RIGHT way, just encouraged to create credit and debit from the moment they graduate high school or hit 18 years old... You guys are doing great at life! Side thought: Being it is a broken system, and a crazy time to be alive, I'd love to know your thoughts on what to do if we ever see a time that things get flipped upside down and our money is worthless?

What percentage of your income to you guys recommended putting into saving and into spending? I feel like I’m having a difficult time finding that balance. We have a 2 month old and are saving for a home too but we also have the need to buy things for her development, home, etc. soooo any tips would help so much! Also, do you mind saying where you bank? I’d love to look into their program for first time home buyers :) thanks!
