🔴 WHAT is an auto belay?

This is a mechanical device mounted at the top of the wall that acts as a belayer by taking up slack as you climb and gently lowering you when you’re done.

🔴 HOW does it work?

Our Perfect Descent auto belays use an innovative double-spring braking system to control the retraction and lowering speed of the lanyard (similar to a seatbelt) so that all falls are caught safely.

🔴 WHY do we have them?

Autos offer the perfect opportunity to get your climb on without needing a partner, plus they’re ideal for training laps and anyone who would like to tackle the high walls but isn’t ready for all the rope wrangling just yet 👌

Very importantly, the golden rule of auto-belaying is to never become complacent and ALWAYS check yourself before starting your climb – serious accidents can happen when climbers forget this. Follow all the steps when clipping in, make your safety checks a habit, and enjoy!

I would have added a “test fall” after a few steps up, as you’re supposed to do with auto belayer to check they are fully functioning.
Not a tall wall here, but probably still worth to do that before reaching the top 😊
