Autobelay accident

So this crazy thing happened to me while speed climbing.

Used an auto belay for first time yesterday and soon realised this kind of thing was a risk

Poor guy looked embarrassed. 😆 Hope no one saw because I hate that feeling. LoL! I am a beginner climber and didn't really realize what might happen if you let the autobelay rope get to the side/behind you like that. Hopefully I wouldn't have done that since I just climb easy stuff slowly, but good to know! 😆👍
Makes sense since you are never supposed to let the rope get behind your leg while lead climbing but didn't really think about it on autobelay.

I know nothing of climbing and can tell this is user error. Misleading title.

You're not a high level / pro speed climber so it's not nessecary to put the rope sideways when you go that slow.
