We repaired Dad's Ute since it's disastrous last outing and we head back to the dyno at Maxx Performance. Will the Valiant hit the mark, or fall short?

On this Episode of Dad's old Chrysler Scotty plays with his shaft, Channels his inner Clarkson with a hammer, Shows the wind in his hair and adopts the name "Finds More Power".

The Old Man's Ute series has been great Scotty. I hope to see more episodes on it in 2022. Despite the "setbacks" you've done really well bringing the old girl back to life. As a Holden Ute owner, it's been a fantastic ride.

Scotty no amount of horsepower can replace how happy you look with dad's ute moving under her own steam!

Love the "Page Up" reference! Eat It! Bloody Awesome video Scotty, perseverance pay's off big time! A way to look at it is; "Life is an adventure, so go live it"

Great work Scotty - thanks for showing us a bit about tuning carbs which many of us would have no experience with. Found that really interesting. Don’t focus too much on the HP figure it’s not what this car is about. Cheers 🍻

160hp (maybe) at the crank to 260hp atw is only part of the story. Nearly 300ft/lbs of torque in such a light ute will be a heap of fun. And it works!
p.s. loving the new camera/editing styles (and smart alec bits).

So glad to see it up and running Scotty. Been following dads ute since Scotty's Garage days. 260hp is still pretty stout, jump in drive it and enjoy it mate. Well Done

Good job indeed Scotty! If I recall the factory rating for a standard 318 (upto 1971 anyway) was 230HP. At the crank. And you’ve blown that number away by 30 plus HP at the wheels! Well done mate, alright, it’s not going to rip your head off in a drag race running 9’s, but it’s not so cranky that you can actually enjoying cruising it on a warm day, at 100kmh an hour without it pinging it’s head off or the temp gauge needle trying to hit the peg…should be a really nice reliable cruiser mate, and let’s be honest I reckon 260 in the Ute with no weight over the back wheels will feel like 400 in about the two or three seconds it takes when you start to smell that burning rubber through your quarter vent windows! Cheers for the journey Scotty, it’s been great for us MOPAR guys (and girls!)

Great work Scotty. Maybe a budget turbo 265 for your other Val. Then a performance showdown!
