Thank you for posting this. My situation is exactly the same accept I have two personal loans totaling $1600 a month and I have a kid that I have joint custody for. I am talking with attorneys now because I am ineligible for chapter 7 (No asset payments and high income) Please keep posting to see what your journey is like.

I'm in the process of talking to a lawyer and I am ready to start the ball rolling. I’ve been working on digging myself out of a hole and can not get any traction. BK was my last resort and just like you, I don't qualify for chapter 7. As long as get some breathing room, Ch 13 it is!

Thank you for posting about your experience. I’ve read lots of stories online and looked for as many examples as I could find but it really does help getting to see someone’s personal experience from their own perspective

Just made my last chapter 13 payment of a 5 year plan. Just waiting on the final paperwork from the trustee. My advice is if anyone is about to get married file before you get married. My ex-wife wasn't filing but they still put our incomes together and that made me not qualify for a chapter 7. I had to pay the full amount in the chapter 13. I realize the lawyers are cool with the trustees. After my divorce I should have been able to qualify for chapter 7 but he said I still made too much even though I really didn't. It's such a headache to even talk to another lawyer and just had two more years on my plans so I finished it. They did lower my payments after the divorce though.

great video man, i plan to make one similar using your format for my situation in ch13. Were at the stage of listing all the creditors and file in 2 weeks.

I filed in February this year and was able to get my student loans as part of the plan. Basically pay prorated amount to student loans and then at end of bankruptcy, I will still have student loan debt, but not as much so it’s somewhat helps to do it this way. Did you get your student loans bunched in with your bankruptcy payment?

Are you saying you didn't have to pay the credit card period, did the court write them off? or were they included in your $3160 a month?

you said you paid $780 lawyer fees to start. I am being quoted $6000 + $380 court costs filing fees, with much of that wrapped into repayment calculation. Also if on SSDI, can you get to a $0.00 monthly repayment plan since "disposable income worksheet" can go down to zero?
