It felt like it was time to head back to the Dollar Store. It’s crazy how far I’ve come since Part 1 was made. I hope you’ll still be with me when I make Part 10 xoxo

That clear shower curtain idea for quilt patterns is brilliant!

Put an old pillowcase over the edges of a trash can and throw your scraps that are too small to use into it. When it is partially full, sew it closed and donate it to a pet shelter or foster group. When the pet finds its forever home, the pillow goes with him/her. Saves all those scraps from the landfill and the pet has something with its scent on it. You can also make your own pillowcases with that why did I buy it fabric or thrift shop finds.

A crafter who knows how to craft on a budget is a powerful crafter, indeed.

Paisano's Roost in Southern New Mexico: Clear Condiment bottles from Dollar store or restaurant supply store. These are great for filling your iron with water. The water goes into the iron with no mess.

I've watched enough of your videos now to make the determination that I'm pretty sure you're a genius, ma'am! Thank you for all you do for the rest of us!

I realize this is an old video, but anyone new to this, I just saw a vid where a thrifty woman discovered a cheap source of canvas cloth at (go figure) the home improvement store! Giant size for paint drop clothes! Dye it pretty colors to make reusable shopping bags, placemats & heavy duty aprons. Tear it into strips to make rag rugs! I hope Karen Brown see's this!😊❤

Thank you, Dear Lady. Wish you lived right next door. I think we could be great Friends. If you ever get to Jacksonville, Florida (or make a special trip) my guest room is always open. It has a private bath and I have lots of sewing machines!! I teach quilting and neighbors and Friends are always giving me machines. I use them in class and give them to people who need them.
Be well and safe.
A new fan. ❤

This is the first video I've seen from you and I'm not even into quilting, but your attitude is so upbeat that I was smiling the whole time! Thank you for the positive vibes!

You are clever and appreciated. Thank you. My neighbor has a 13 yr old on the spectrum. I want to offer to do crafts with her and this was so helpful.

That one idea for the mirror is ingenious! One of those-"why didn't I think of that!"

I've learned the hard way to put painters tape on the edge of the shower curtain to prevent me from going on my fabric when doodling.

👏 BRAVO 👏 BRAVO 👏
This video was even better than the last. So many good hacks. I especially like putting the newsprint through the printer for foundation paper patterns. You kinda blew my mind with that one. I love the concept of using an entire tablecloth to design the "entire" quilt. I've used like 12" vinyl, but it never crossed my mind to do the WHOLE quilt. The command strips w/ pinned on velcro is just brilliant for hanging up small holiday quilts. I've used trays for years to line up 2 1/2" strips to make scrappy log cabins, but I love the thought of leaving pieces for scrappy blocks.

I know your going to hear this a lot. What a great & organized dollar store you have. I'm just a little jelly over that. Again thank you for taking the time to source, video and edit all the great shows that you present us. 😽

Karen, I’ve just found your channel and subscribed. I have to tell you that one of the things I like is that your videos are “break length”…..meaning if I’m having a grumpy work day, I can go get some tea or coffee or soda. Long videos my have more info, but I really can’t have a life of my own if I’m watching a bunch of 30, 40, 60 minute videos. Right around 10 minutes like you do is ideal. And so many practical tips….I will be teying to carch up on all your old videos. Great channel!!!
