Given the values of two terms of an arithmetic sequence find the first four terms
Показать описание
👉 Learn how to determine the first five terms of an arithmetic sequence. A sequence is a list of numbers/values exhibiting a defined pattern. A number/value in a sequence is called a term of the sequence. An arithmetic sequence is a sequence in which each term of the sequence is obtained by adding a predetermined value, called the common difference, to the preceding term.
The formula for the nth term of an arithmetic sequence is given by An = a + (n - 1)d, where a is the first term, n is the term number and d is the common difference. We can obtain the common difference by subtracting a term from the succeeding term or if the known terms are not consecutive, we can obtain the common difference by dividing the difference of the two terms by the difference of their term numbers. Plugging the required values into the formula, we can obtain the first five-term or the required terms of the arithmetic sequence.
