RAF at the Military International Drone Racing Tournament 2024

Last month, RAF personnel took part in the Military International Drone Racing Tournament at The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC), London, which sets the best military drone racers from the allied world against each other in a fight for the win.

Battling tough competition, the UK team eventually secured second place overall! 🏆

With First Person View drones becoming increasingly prevalent in modern warfare, some of our people are developing their skills with these technologies through sport.

The professional employment of drones has developed at a rapid rate with many of these systems contributing to current Ukrainian efforts to defend their homeland from Russian aggression or being used against them. To be able to continue to fly and fight, the RAF must seek to capitalise on these emergent technological opportunities.
