I´m old enough to remember when the backs pretty much stayed in that back area most of the time but the game is so different today. I don´t see why people think Trent should be a midfielder? He is possibly the best right back in Europe and maybe the world, why move him? There´s no guarantee he would affect the game any more than he does now....and who would you replace him with
