I remember sitting in chemistry class and this guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and I thought he was going to say something about our homework so I held up my notebook and smiled but then he said to me “you need to cut your hair, you have really bad split ends” my face got so red and my smile turned to shock lol😵‍💫that moment haunts me to this day ☠️

@abbey, will you include your mom in a video? Your audience expands to her age group too. When women deal with going gray and perimenopause/menopause, it’s a whole new set of hair health issues. Hair health as we age would be a great topic for women.

I’m overcoming a huge compulsion to split my hair. Even making new split ends on healthy hair and these were my favorite to split. I’m so so glad I’ve made progress. I don’t have these splits anymore!

You have helped me so much these past 2 months on my soft and healthy hair journey. I had a hair app yesterday and my stylist told me my hair was a lot smoother than before 😊
Thank you for all your knowledge and hard work Abbs ❤

I have the little white dots because I did balayage and it was very blond and my hair was not happy. BUT since discovering you a few months ago, I've taken better care of my hair so we are on the mend. Keep the recommendations coming I absolutely love them when I can find them (watching from Spain here). Love you girl and thanks for all the hard work.

Abbey you are an absolute powerhouse. It amazes me that you have the time to study, post regularly to social media, all the time it must take to script/plan your content and edit everything as immaculately as you do. You are my favourite content creator by far. You are the most informative and educational creator and you are so engaging too! Love you <3

I used to be covered in those white dots! I trim my own ends. Elle bangs does a tutorial on it. You grab some of your hair, wrap it around your finger and slowly glide your fingers and cut any white dots you see. Its an actual technique i just duno what its called. Im obsessed with doing it. That and adding a oil treatment before bed. Using k18 or olaplex 3 i switch it up and a hair mask, wash once a week. I virtually have none left

Hey Abbey! So I bought your hair guide and I love it, but I would love to see information in there on how you style your hair for the week, including how you wear it to bed! Protective styles are definitely one of the things I struggle with the most and I think that information could be really useful!

My hair health journey definitely began with scalp care and cleansing with a routine, and learning how to heat style responsibly. I tried a point in my life to air dry and stop heat styling for three years straight, and nothing happened to improve my hair. This journey only showed me that I was still at a place where I started lol! Once I learned how to use professional products and tools correctly with a healthy routine was the only time I saw my hair living its best life :D And yes, patience!

Started my hair care journey about 8 months ago. Had those things all over my hair. I still have them of course but the amount has decreased significantly. Leave in conditioner has been a life saver.

I used to have this issue. My hair was very damaged from All The Things - I used high heat, colored frequently, brushed from root to end to detangle. In 2020, I lost my job and was unemployed for almost a year after (COVID), so I decided to stop all coloring and heat-styling and be gentle to my hair. It took over a year to grow out the damage, but now it’s healthy and looks so much better. I do use leave-in conditioner and hair oil, and diffuse my hair to dry it, as well as sleeping on a silk pillowcase, etc. I recently started coloring again, but try to take as long as possible between coloring, using a glossing toner that helps protect it in between times I do the roots.
Good video, and all the best to you on pursuing your trich…hair degree. 😅

Thank you so much for this information. This happened to me when my well-meaning colorist attempted to help me by bleaching some of my salt and pepper gray hair to match the natural silver steaks I have around my face. I developed this condition on the most gray parts of my hair that were bleached….and those parts turned a light brownish blond color. I had been growing out my gray for almost 3 years. I hope that this helps someone to not be as foolish as I was.

Perfect timing!! I haven't colored my hair in years and rarely use heat on it, yet I have so much breakage (I think it's breakage) that I hate wash days because it looks worse with fly-a-ways (today was a wash day so perfect timing). I have yet to understand why all the damage. I try to be gentle when it's wet. Hopefully these tips will help because I'm literally wanting to cut it all off (but I'm reminded that I don't like my hair short...LOL!!) Thanks!!💕

I recently was in the hospital for a major surgery and the whole ordeal was extremely damaging to my hair. I lost hair in clumps and my hair dried out and become extremely damaged from being in the hospital and not being able to wash it. Now I've managed to get it back to being very conditioned, soft and silky but i still have a lot of these white nodes and split ends all over. Trying to put off cutting my ends but it might be my only option, as all the bond repair products i use wont be of much help :/

Heat protectant video please!! Do you use it on wet hair? Dry hair? Do you reapply if you’re restyling between washes? Affordable product recommendations? Recommendations for oily scalps? Do you apply it to all sections or just the lengths? How do you protect the top without creating oil hair? Do you use it in addition or instead of leave in conditioner?

I love that you are taking courses to expand your knowledge and really learn the science behind it. We need more people like that in the world!! And also thank u for sharing it with us <3

I cut those little white dots off, because it indeed feels like it’s going to break off anyway. But I also totally understand that people don’t - I’ve had multiple hairs growing for an inch or two after such a white dot, so it’s possible! Just personally don’t like the look of them, although nobody else can see them😆

I very much have this on my long bleached hair. If you already have a lot of layers, I actually recommend getting a good pair of hair cutting scissors from the beauty supply store and carefully trimming them out over the course of time. It is going to increase how often you have to get a haircut in order to keep a good shape, but it has prevented the spread of them more than any other action. Especially if you’re like me and you’ll just wanna pick them off if you see them. I recommend spending about three minutes a day, set a timer it’s addictive, just cutting them out. I saw a huge improvement in how many were continuing develop.
