Do African Students Want to Study in China?

As China expands its influence in Africa, do African students want to study in China? Dr. Omolade Adunbi, Associate Professor at the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan, says, "The idea of studying for a lot of African students is not just necessarily about destination. It is about resources...in terms of financial benefits, whether in terms of scholarship or in terms of other forms...What we see going on in a lot of African countries is that the Chinese government seems to be providing a lot of scholarship opportunities to African students. And that has been encouraging a lot of students to go to many of the institutions or universities in China."
