A lot of people in the bjd hobby want to knock cheaper dolls. But cheaper dolls are very practical.
-you can use them as practice dolls for faceups.
-they're a great way to get into the hobby.
-great for homes with pets or young children.
The last point applies to me. I have young kids living with me and pets. My expensive sculpts are well out of reach. I have my hujoos, and my no name bjds out. So that way if they mess with them, I don't have to worry about them getting mishandled.

Thank you! Im so happy to see someone make a video on this subject. Ive been shopping AlliExpress for awhile now and just started collecting dolls a little over a year ago. I have a son and sometimes non existent doll budget. When trying to share my finds ive gotten so much hate and I am not experienced enough to tell exactly whats legit and whats not. But I knew AlliExpress couldn't literally be selling Only recast dolls. Love ❤

This is a fairly affordable option for people trying to get into bjds, thanks for the info! I know their price tag is one of the things that gave me the most pause when getting into those kinds of dolls/figures. I understand why they are expensive but the price can be daunting, so along with doll leaves and resin souls I'm glad there are other affordable options for people getting into the hobby!

You just explained quite a bit in this video. Really appreciate that. I've switched from making barbie clothes and started making clothes for bjd's now. I thought I had a good model and got a 1/3 five-star doll. Made a couple outfits and then realized that there are many sizes of 1/3 bjd's and not really a standard. How do I get a simple 1/3 body to Make clothes? Is there a certain height or body style to look for? I don't even need a head but I don't know where to start
