Israel open to Gaza ceasefire talks, says US | BBC News

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to an American "bridging proposal" for a ceasefire deal in Gaza.

Hamas has said it is “keen to reach a cessation of aggression”.

Discussions follow the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians killed by an Israeli strike on a school, according to news agency Reuters.

The Israeli army also confirmed on Tuesday they had retrieved the bodies of six hostages from Gaza.
