It's disrespectful how the guards are trained but tourists are commoners.
In the era where these guards did actually guard the palaces, I'm sure they maimed many peasants.
They are trained but it's all a tourist attraction and the poor guard has to wear a terribly uncomfortable costume as well as smell horse excrement for hours.
