Attended A.I. between 2013 and 2016. Half way through they got hit with their first lawsuit which completely cut the staff in half. Lost the only good instructors we had. We were given the option of relocating to another location or having the year get “taught out” by unqualified instructors. (Mostly former students who couldn’t get jobs in their fields either.) Was an absolute disaster and have spent the last 9 years feeling completely burned and set back by my choice to attend. Today was a shock, but a welcome one.

I graduated in the fall of 2003 at the Orange County campus and experienced all of these lies. Why is 2004 the cutoff? Makes zero sense to me...guess I'm just screwed.

Has anyone started getting refunds yet? My story is the same as everyone else. I graduated in 2008 and owe more today than I borrowed, six figures. My servicer won't answer questions. They only say, you'll get it, when you get it. They also didn't stop my payments, I had to apply for forbearance to get them to move. Feel skeptical this will actually happen so just wondering what the time frame is for anyone else.

When I woke up, checked my phone, and saw the email, I never jumped out of bed so fast. Graduated in 2014, and am so relived that this will finally be gone soon. My original loan was $120, 000, and paid 60-70 thousand into it between me and my mom. The Current amount owed together now, is $183, 000. With this being gone soon, I'll have full control over my life, and with some budgeting, and personal road maps, i'll be debt free all together in my adult life for the first time. Even my mom will be happy as she helped me with these loans. I'm so excited, and feel like I can truly start living now. Sucks my Degree is basically unless, but at least this nightmare will be over. I wish the rest of my fellow AI classmates a celebratory cheers!

They are definitely canceling other loans. I got an email yesterday! My entire $210, 000 was forgiven, which included my undergrad, my graduate and the loan I took out for my daughter! Mine wasn't Art School, but because I've been paying on mine for 25 years. I feel like I lost a 100 pounds and hit the lottery in one day. This was my only debt besides a $3, 000 credit card, which I will begin applying my student loan payments to in order to erase that debt. I feel like I got a 2nd chance at life.

But i have a question... what about private loans to those schools. They arent federal so how do we get refund for that?
