In this graduation work I had the goal of creating an iconic film scene that you will instantly recognize, but in an art style that isn’t normally meant to be 3D. In this case I went for the magic bus scene from the movie «Into The Wild» created by Sean Penn. As for the artstyle, My mentor and me chose that there wouldn’t be a better match as the work of Enki Bilal. This all thrown together in an unreal engine 4 environment and trying to make as many of the processes procedural as possible.

I decided to do as much in post-process as possible, because this has a lot of tweakable value’s on the go.
The effects I researched were A frozen screen effect, a paper grain effect, sharpening in post, cell and outline shading, and an uncommon usage of a kuwahara filter.

All these effects were also added a custom depth render. I was faced with having to deal with workarounds because of a lack of multiple realtime depth renders being possible.

Software that was used for this project: Zbrush, 3dsMax, Substance, Photoshop, Unreal4.
