Yep that's me. The reason I never talk is because I don't want to say something that will make me look stupid. And if someone asks me something I keep over thinking it and by the time I got a answer they have left. Has it happened to anyone else?

Teachers be like: I heard you are VERY VERY shy, and don't talk. so I'll make you talk as much as I can

People take my shyness as snobbish and arrogant. Geez, I'm just shy:(

It's irritating when people ask 'Wow, you're quiet. Are you really shy? I'm not a rapist or anything, I won't hurt you.' blah blah blah.
They think just coz you're quiet and whenever around strangers you make an absolute fool of yourself you're shy. Some people just like silence.

if people didn't come up to ME and say hi, I would have no friends because I would be WAYYY too shy to say hello. I have social anxiety also and I'm always scared to say something bad.

In the sixth grade, one of my classmates walked straight up to me and asked, 'do you do anything other than sit there and smile?' That ruined me so much. I should have thought nothing of it, but it really did ruin my self-confidence. :l

When the teacher tells the class to find a partner. Then the teacher has to put you with a random group or person. It's really embarrassing and it's hard to work with the group/person because you're so shy.

Presenting/Reading/Doing whatever! When your teacher calls you out and do something in front of the class.

And the worse part you blush

Usually I'm shy but when someone tells me
Person: why are you so quiet?
Me: well, nobody plans a murder out loud, do they?

You have no idea how many times random people come up to me at school and say something like "Do you ever talk?"
Looking up at them and shaking my head usually makes them go away XD

"Let's share a fun fact" no. Also I hate it when people go " I don't bite, I promise." Like do you all really think were that stupid?'

I'm shy and awkward around people when I first meet them
But when I get  to know people a bit better, I start to show my inner self
And that's when I get these comments:
"I've never heard you curse before"
"You're a lot weirder than I thought..."
"You laugh a lot, that surprised me"

One word strikes fear in me during every meeting: "icebreaker"

I hate when people say : "You should talk more !"
They don't know what's in my head at the moment when I try to speak.. for me it's not as easy as them. I'm like afraid to speak and I want to avoid embarassing moments, but then when I don't speak and I just give an akward smile or I nod my head and the other person is like "wtf is wrong with you", it's even more embarassing.
Anyway, it's REALLY MORE COMPLICATED than what people think. It's not just "talking more".. ..it's difficult. Especially when I've never been friendly with the people around me because I'm too shy and then I just suddenly start speaking with them. See? It'd be weird and I think it's better to rest like this, because I tried to change but I just can't, but this doesn't mean that I don't want to be friends with the others...it's just that it tooks me a bit more to get comfortable with them, but when I finally decide to be friends with them or at least to try they already left and they think that I'm like this because I don't want to talk to them. It's not true!! It's just that I need some more time..that's it...
(Sorry for my english, but it's not my first language)

Should have included when you get a seating arrangement at school/college next to an extremely extroverted person. Got a class where I and two other shy guys sit with one extremely extroverted dude who's so desperate for interaction that he'll keep talking about anything he sees and as soon as he gets a glimpse of my headphones he starts going "what are you gonna listen to? what artist is that? what kinda genre? what song are you listening to now? what device is that? what brand are your headphones? is that song old? does it have a music video?".

Seriously people, it's totally okay to attempt conversation with someone who's silent, but when they're clearly not in the mood or uncomfortable with the topic or questions you ask, don't try endlessly going just for the sake of talk.

People always say these kind of things: "She doesnt talk. Why are you so quiet? Why don't you talk? Say something, I've never heard your voice" I get why people say this.. But understand that it's the same as asking a loud person why they talk so much. They would probably reply with "I don't know" well I don't know why I'm quiet x) It's just a part of me.

I was literally cringing at the situations. Because nothing is worse than talking to someone on the phone, talking to those religious people that come knocking, and talking on the elevator. God I'm so shy that I couldn't look straight at my boyfriend for the first couple of days we started going out!!

Literally me. I'm so shy, the internet is my only get away to be myself. If you met me in real life you wouldn't even recognize me as the person I am on the internet.

These things happen to me legitimately everyday, like seriously. I'm working on opening up, so I'll be able to say hi in like 12 years bye.
