As sad as this scene made me, the fact Togo got to live a peaceful life filled with love before he passed gives me comfort.

I cried on the scene when he saw him on that cliff watching him as animal spirit to remind him that he will always be there

This ending was way too emotional for me. The transition when Togo was running towards him and then the flashback to when he was just a puppy and then back again to an adult with him huffing while running just tore right through me. This movie was very well done and Willem Dafoe is incredible in this movie

I cried for a solid 30 minutes after watching this film because those ending statements were so true. I owned a dog and she was the light of my life. It's been over a decade since I've lost her but I still think about her everyday. She truly was a great one and is forever harnessed to my heart.

I cried so hard because it’s so true..
Update: I really love this scene a lot, because I do too have a husky and he’s been there for me since my life went to shit and always there no matter what, I love him with all of my heart, he’s the best I could ask for and the only one I’ll ever love, I know one day it’ll be the end of his days and I will be there with him, holding his paw, telling him he’s the best boy ever, loving him for the last time. Basically, love your dog as if it was the last day, you’re their world, their life.

The truly hardest part of owning a dog, when they go ! But they'll always be by your side . The best place to bury a dog is in your heart. Miss you

This scene kept the waterworks running even harder for me! but what really set it off and got me going was when Togo is running to get back with Sep and then it flash backs to Togo as a puppy really hit me hard.
Great movie.

I never cried so hard in my life watching a movie. You can feel the depth of Seppala's feelings, the melancholy while he is remembering his lovely and loyal dog, who's spirit will live forever in his memory... This is literally a knife in my hearth.

When I was young my family would volunteer to foster service dogs that would go into the military. We would get the dogs as pups and would keep them for about 6 months or so while they completed their training.

All of the dogs were wonderful, but one in particular was great. In just a few months, she captured my heart, and I balled like a baby when she was sent away.

Years later I discovered that she had been deployed as a bomb dog. She would sniff out and alert the troops of hidden IEDs. I was told that she saved lives. I was not surprised. I knew what she was.

When I was in college I learned that she was retired from active duty and would be put up for adoption. I tried everything to get her back, but there was a long waitlist and she was adopted by another family.

I was able to get in contact with that family, and in 2015 I was able to visit her. It had been over 10 years since she left us. At first I don’t think she remembered me, but after a few moments she recognized my scent and it was like she was a puppy again. I hugged her and cried like I’ve never cried before.

She died about 2 years ago.

But as Dafoe said, “if you were lucky enough to know a great one, they’re never really gone.” She’s still with me... always.

2nd only to becoming a father, raising her is the proudest moment of my life.

RIP Leonhard “Sepp” Seppala (September 14, 1877 – January 28, 1967), aged 89
And
RIP Togo (October 17, 1913 – December 5, 1929), aged 16
You both will be remembered as heroes.

Wonderful movie. This scene really touched me. I sometimes see my boy Max, rest his soul, in my mind's eye, just the way this scene depicts. He was not a champion, but he was my best friend for more than 13 years.

It's so sad that Togo, didn't get to see the rest of his life. And it's even more sad when he looked at Togo on the rock. Even though it was just a memory. Also the music makes it extra sad.

A movie that touches you deep inside and make you feel like a piece of forgotten history came back to life. 😢❤
