YI 4K PLUS VLOGGING RIG & FOOTAGE | VLOGGING WITH AN ACTION CAMERA [4K]

I recently picked up the new YI 4K Plus Action Camera and decided to use it for vlogging. This camera can shoot video in 4K at 60fps which is great for slow motion shots, and you can also use an external microphone with it. The aluminum case I ordered for it has a cold shoe mount on top of it which allows you to add an external microphone. As you can see in this video the image quality is really good, but in my opinion the audio is not that great. In comparison to the YI 4K action camera it is slightly better, but not great.

Anyways, the purpose of this video was to show you my vlogging setup and to actually go out and vlog with it. Additionally you'll be able to see some actual YI 4K Plus footage. I hope you guys find this video helpful.

A lot of people have asked if type C connector will work on the YI 4K Action Camera. Unfortunately, it will not work on the Yi4K. The Yi4K has one USB Micro-B port and doesn't have the option for an external mic. Hope that helps!

Hey man cool vid. I have this same camera and was thinking of switching to the GoPro hero 7 to use as a vlogging camera while I go hiking but I might wait on it. So you color correct any of the footage in premiere pro before posting?

Hey! Excellent review! I want the same case for mi 4K+. Just one question, if you want to use that case with a gimbal, which one would you recommend? I was thinking in the yi gimbal, but with that case it won't fit. Thanks!

While the 4k/60 FPS is great, the extra waterproof hardware would annoy me. I'm sticking with the Hero 5 until something new comes out.. and even then, I hardly use the go pro enough to warrant upgrading it. I love these reviews though, so useful.

First thing noticed is some artefacts and distortion in the background. You can see it against the door frame at 3:01 - that's what puts me off getting on of these Chinese cameras. I think they will in time produce excellent Cameras, but they just don't have the tech and R&D of the likes of Sony, Canon and even GoPro at this point.

04:29 the audio without the external mic is because of the case you got it in. it must be blocking the mic. sounds much better on my camera.
