I like the angle you're taking this topic from. It's an interesting take and for all intensive purposes, it's uniquely plausible. But might I suggest another idea that can be clearly found in the scriptures?!?
The bible says there were giants in the earth in those days and after, obviously meaning before and after the flood. Although it doesn't make sense to our minds due to basic science, it is still very possible that many might have believed what Noah was trying to preach to the rest of humanity at the time and perhaps they knew of a way to stay deep inside the earth without being flooded out or drowned by the worldwide flood.
I've always enjoyed hearing the different ideas of how they still lived after the flood but I've always leaned in the direction that they most likely went below ground rather than trying to run up and away from the water, which would have guaranteed their death.
Also the other more glaring understanding that if they were indeed alive after the flood, that means that they would still be very much alive today as well. Almost as if they are staying hidden away knowing that the last days were not quite upon them yet.
Thing is now is that time that they have been waiting for since the days of Noah.
Over the last 20 years there have been many stories of people running into these truly evil beings. Most of the time they are in places far outside of the sight of men, and the sightings always happen when humans decide to go hiking, camping and exploring the rural areas away from the congested habitations they would normally be in.
What I do know is that I am a man of absolute faith in Christ Jesus the Lord, and because of that relationship with my creator I firmly believe everything written of in God's word.
The bible says as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be again in the last days before Christ Jesus return.
That of course means that if there were evil, man eating cannibal giants in Noah's day, there will also be the same in these last days, for God is not mocked nor does he alter the things that come from his mouth.
The bible also says that men's hearts will fail them for fear of what is coming upon this earth.
When these giants return to the surface for the last great battle between good and evil it will be the first time anyone has ever seen giants that stand at Heights between 9 feet all the way up to 50- 60 feet tall.
I believe this will be one of the major reasons men's hearts will fail them.

The Nephilim did not survive the judgment of God they were all destroyed! How they returned was the same way that they were created in the first place.

I will tell you a mystery: When it comes to the Angels of God Satan has the same "temptation deal" with God for the Angels the same as humans and because they have free will the same as us and Satan still has his powers to shape shift and present himself to them as an Angel of Light as well and some of them do fall for it. As the Bible said "they saw that women were beautiful"! Satan has been able to entice numerous other Angels to join his team of fallen by making the same promises that mislead many of them in the first place of "making them greater than they were created" as well as offering them the ability to have a wives and children which was not meant for them to have!

Today's Nephilim though they are still indeed hybrid humanoid beings they are no longer giants and that is because the Angels used their powers over their own genetics and did genetic manipulation called eugenics to ensure that this new generation of Nephilim hybrids look just like all other humans and the only way that you can tell them apart is by the gift of discerning of spirits from the Lord as part of his anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is why it is important that every born again Christian gets baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit which is the anointing of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit is not only the source of our weapons of warfare in the spirit but he is also the source of our revelation knowledge and the understanding of mysteries such as this topic of the Nephilim. To believers like me there are no theories in the kingdom of Heaven we just seek and ask the Lord and he reveals all Truth to us by the Spirit of Truth.

I will also tell you this that the reason why the government will never openly confirm the existence of Giants even though they have collected many remains from all over the world and knows that they clearly existed is because they are under a Satanic mandate to deny the Word of God and confirming the Giants is considered a confirmation of the Word of God and the God of this world is not going to have that happen!

This is intriguing to me.
I believe that when Jesus said that we would be like angels in heaven, neither having wives or children that angels were created so that they couldn't reproduce.
Gen 6 has three main characters:
Nephilim, Sons of God, daughters of men.
Nephilim are the fallen ones (plural).
Sons of God is somewhat confusing.
1. It's unclear whether they are angels. . I know it implies angels in Job.
2. But God said in Hebrews : " as to what angel have I given the right to be called Sons"
Now Daughters of men...
Earlier they were Daughters of God if I understand it right from Hebrew. It changed for a reason.
What is significant to me is that the fallen ones taught men to sin.
Now given what I've learned from today's Satanic ways these ppl use Solomonic Majik, ritual, and blood sacrifice to summon demons, cast spells, and do dark deeds.
I believe demons are disembodied spirits from the cursed killed in the flood. ( Not Angels) That's why they are territorial and seeking to enter a body through trickery.
I don't think angels have the ability to occupy a human body. They also teach men the ways of darkness.
Putting all of this together to square with the Word of God I'd have to think that Nephilim taught men how to practice black arts to perform evil and also to create through genetics how to produce giants.
I know it's way against the grain of study. But it makes more sense to me.

I believe the watchers survived the flood and as soon as it was over they started over again. Greek gods was nephilim or the angels themselves along with every other version of deities through out the ancient world. Now days we just call them aliens instead of gods. Makes sense from a biblical perspective.
