Many would say that Harry had the opportunity for a unique and very satisfying role within the evolving royal family. He was well regarded and was being positioned to take very meaningful patron roles with a number of enterprises that meant a great deal for him. Remaining a duke when his brother ascends the throne would actually give him a good deal more privacy and freedom, while still having the security and support of the palace. The man is a fool. I think he's already done permanent damage to his relationship with the family. He may come back, if he and Meghan divorce - but he'll never be given a working royal role again.
