Sony ZV-1 USB Webcam | HUGE UPDATE

Using the Sony ZV-1 USB Webcam function is great, but there is no USB audio so you can't even use the onboard mic and the video resolution is limited. This video shows you how to install the latest firmware for the Sony ZV-1 which now allows USB Audio AND provides 720P video. This is a HUGE update for the Sony ZV-1 and you no longer have to use the Imaging Edge App anymore. I've tested it on Zoom and OBS and no problems.

Vic, I love this channel and hate it at the same time. Love it cause it's got all those great tips. Great video as always Vic but you missed a trick. The USB connection option is greyed out, UNLESS you turn OFF the Ctrl w/ Smartphone option.

From the manual p.281 USB Connection:


Select MENU → (Network) → [Ctrl w/ Smartphone] → [Ctrl w/ Smartphone] → [Off] beforehand.
Also, when you set MENU → (Network) → [PC Remote Function] → [PC Remote Cnct Method] to [USB], set [PC
Remote] under [PC Remote Function] to [Off].

Does the camera use power from usb port during streaming ? So i don't have to worry about battery life while streaming ?

I thought it will be charged at the same time when using it as a webcam, I tested it and the battery went dead. will be waiting for your next video to show us how to fix this issue :)

I think I have seen all your videos on the ZV-1, but I do normally get the max 15 fps issue with USB (nice through HDMI), with your previous settings. This however, did fix that. From my testing, this is an all-in solution. Locking me out of any other settings.
For the fps problem I have tested on 2 windows, and 1 mac computer, with different USB cables... and cannot find a solution.

I love your videos, i learn a lot! :) I have couple of questions: why on my Sony ZV-1I can't turn-on a Soft Skin Effect if i camera is set to 4K format? Why Steady shot is unactivated if Product Showcase Set is turn on? Why my Sony ZV-1 looks little bit diferent then yours and doesn't have same stuff in menu (fo example: just 25p100M and 25p60M in Record Setting)? Thank you!
