No outro, so here it is... You're Cool

I faced Nadu this morning. Turn 4, they had 12 lands, 7 cards in hand, and 10 creatures. I missed 1 land drop. Fun

The first time I read Nadu when it was spoiled I misread it as it can only trigger twice a turn period. That it's per creature is just deranged and the designer of that card needs to have an assistant hired to sanity check their ideas because what the actual eff?

"Only" twice, cards fine guys, we nailed it

Why tf would the land come into play untapped??

Not since Oko have I seen them design a card that was so clearly a mistake.

I don’t know how I feel about this card in regular Commander, the way it interacts with stuff like Shuko. “I guess I’ll equip and unequip this ummm, ten times, then I’ll play this creature I put into my hand and do the Shuko thing again. Then I’ll play these 3 0 cost creatures I put into my hand and do it 6 more times…”

The lands entering untapped had to have been such an obvious oversight. Fire that dude.

Never mind that the twice per turn clause is twice as good as it had to be, it will also be a pain in the neck to track in paper.

Also this guy reminds me of Voja: he incentives board wipes instead of spot removal, which slows down games.

I can’t believe that card is only 3 mana.

I actually just built this deck in paper to play some commander with my friends, and I went all out. I got the shuko, sylvan paradise, sea kings blessing, cyclonic rift, bristly bill, nantuko guy, scute swarm, displacer kitten, fetch lands...the works + all the other shenanigans to make it top tier minus the auto win thassas oracle (although a laboratory maniac seemed ok).

Yet, after watching this video (which, for the first time ever while watching CGB content, I repeatedly skimmed forward to just see the final couple of turns of each game, since the matches were very uninteresting). It was CGB, winning EVERY game, in such an UTTERLY overpowered NO CONTEST sort of way! He just pulverized the opponents!

It did not seem fun. For anyone involved! Just an, I win deck! My turns are gonna take too long because I'm constantly searching for lands and artifacts in my deck...here please cut, AGAIN! Wait, I'll counter that spell, draw/ramp a shit ton, no that removal won't work because I used some form of protection/phasing/blinking on it...and oh yeah I draw/ramp some more. Bam, a rift! Or shit I decked myself because I locked in the combo, and now Labratory Maniac says...I WIN! Because I have Arch of Orazca to draw from that empty deck.

I haven't even played one game with my fully double sleeved and constructed Nadu "Maniacal Spiracal" deck yet, and I dont believe I should. A small part of me (the competitive a**hole part) does want to try this deck out, but the Magic loving guy, who likes having a healthy play group and good friends that enjoy playing with me, part...does NOT want to.

Thanks for the insight CGB.

It's funny because even if they ban this card the necrobloom has also hyperoptimized landfall decks. Stapling avenger of zendikar, field of the dead and life for the loam on one card for 4 mana is just not fine.

Thoughts on running Orvar? target your own creature with an instant or sorcery, get a copy, the copy can get two additional triggers from the commander.

Wait, if this ability is on each creature you control, that means that if you target your creatures with March of Swirling Mist you'll get a trigger for each of them?

Finally, a card that can compete with Mesa Falcon as the king of flyers.

I saw you build this on livestream and kind of rolled my eyes at, but my god does this simic go hard

Nadu is a good bird, but it's no Mesa Falcon.

Me: *finally gets the song "Surfin' Bird" out of my head*

CGB: "Haven't you heard? This bird is the word."

I'd recommend putting in ivy, gleeful spell thief! copies all targeted spells and lets you also target her, double the triggers per spell pretty much
