If you are new to beekeeping, it can be disappointing to learn that most hives don't produce excess honey to harvest your first year. But, in this video we show you how to harvest a frame or two of honey year 1, without hurting your bees!

Thanks for this video - the family has been asking for some honey and I have one hive that has some extra frames!

I made a lot of honey my first year in my Lazutin hive. The Linden aka basswood blooms make a huge difference.

This is my first year beekeeping. 7 of my 9 hives have supers on. I don't look for um to completely fill all of them but I'm planning on getting a little honey in a few weeks

Just got 2 nucs ordered and going to pick them up next week.. they say I can’t take off any honey the first year? What do you think if I get honey do I just leave it all to the bees or I take a quarter or what’s the deal with that? Thanks in advance
