That's how my Mom taught me when we worked on my first apron😊
I had to sew it for Home Economics and I swore I had to buy a pattern.
Mom took Christmas tissue paper and made a pattern...I had no idea somebody could do that.
I used My Mom's 28 Singer and I got an A+.
I love your videos and instruction❤

I always did my ruffles by hand sewing. I have a new sewing machine and can't wait to try ruffles with it. Thanks for sharing Sherrill. I love your tutorials and hints. 🙂❤

I have always avoided ruffling because it looked so hard. I am going to give this a try! Thanks for your encouraging lessons. I learn so much on your channel, Sherrill!

Thank you Cheryl for this video. I liked the ruffler foot. This is the first demo I've seen on one. Very useful to have, I'm going to look into purchasing one for my sewing machine.

I am 73 y.o. and I've been sewing for many years. I ordered that ruffle making presser foot several years ago. As you said it came with no instructions and I thought the fabric to be ruffled went THROUGH the presser foot, not under it. Meanwhile I have made many ruffled things using the double row of longer stitches. I was just floored by this video. I knew the single row and the double row. After trying several times to use that foot to make ruffles and failing every time, I just put it away an didn't use it. NOW I CAN!!! (after I practice of course). Thank you sew much!

I have been ruffling for years but never used a ruffled like that. Thanks for sharing.

I like this for a Christmas Tree skirt as it is a bit puffy & would likely cascade beautifully down from the tree stem. You could get really creative adding rickrack, pompoms & piping like some of your other videos show. 🎄☃️

This was very helpful! I just finished a dress yesterday for my granddaughter that had ruffle cap sleeves. It drove me a little crazy and wondered if I ever wanted to make any more. Thanks to you, I will. You give such inspiration!
